A Halal certificate is only worth as much as the body behind it. These are the organisations that accredit or recognise HQC Europe, and that make our certificates accepted in destination markets.
Regional presidency of the World Halal Food Council
HQC holds the regional presidency for Europe of the World Halal Food Council, an organisation founded in 1999 bringing together more than 55 Halal bodies worldwide.
Accreditation and recognition bodies

Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (Emiratos Árabes Unidos)
Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology of the United Arab Emirates. Competent authority for standardisation and control of imported products.

Saudi Halal Center
Saudi Halal Center, part of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority. It recognises the certification bodies allowed to issue certificates valid for export to Saudi Arabia.

Halal Indonesia
Halal Indonesia, the certification mark managed by the state agency BPJPH. Halal certification is mandatory to trade in Indonesia.

EIAC — Emirates International Accreditation Centre
EIAC, the Dubai accreditation centre. It accredits certification and inspection bodies against international standards.

MUI — Majelis Ulama Indonesia
MUI, the Indonesian Ulema Council. Religious authority that rules on Halal conformity and a historical reference in the sector.

Ministry of Public Health (Catar)
Ministry of Public Health of Qatar. Health authority regulating the entry of food products into the country.

Malaysia Halal
Official Halal mark of Malaysia, mandatory for certified products sold in the country.

IMANOR — Institut Marocain de Normalisation
IMANOR, the Moroccan Institute for Standardisation. National standardisation and certification body of Morocco.

The Central Islamic Council of Thailand
Central Islamic Council of Thailand. Authority overseeing Halal certification in the country.

JAKIM — Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia
JAKIM, the Department of Islamic Development of Malaysia. It is the authority that recognises foreign bodies whose certificates Malaysia accepts.

HAC — Halal Accreditation Council (Sri Lanka)
HAC, the Halal Accreditation Council of Sri Lanka.

The Central Islamic Committee of Thailand
Central Islamic Committee of Thailand. Issues and oversees Thai Halal certification.

SMIIC — Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries
SMIIC, the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries, under the OIC. It develops the internationally referenced Halal standards.
